Introduced in 1879, they were designed by Webb.  220 were built.  86 engines were taken into LMS stock, although only 33 received LMS numbers.  The last engine was withdrawn in 1932.
When first built they did not have coal rails, these were fitted from about 1910 onwards.
The first engines had a sloping smokebox front, this was changed from 1890 on. This later version is the kit modelled.  None have been preserved.

The kit comes with instructions which include livery and numbering information.
Handrail Knobs,  wire and transfers are not included.

Designed by J. C. Park, 31 of these 0-6-0T were built between 1879 and 1905. although used primarily on freight duties they were occassionally pressed into passenger service in times of pressure..
On January 1st. 1909 the LNER took over the working of the NLR, which it absorbed on January 1st. 1922.
In 1909 nine of the engines were transferred to Willesden and Camden.  All had returned to the NLR by 1920.
In the early 1930's two engines were tried on the Cromford and high Peak line in Derbyshire.  The trials were successful and four engines worked the line until J94's started to take  over in 1956.  58850 (LMS 7505),  the last of the class, was withdrawn from here in September 1960.
In 1937 six engines were transferred to Birkenhead docks.  Others remained at the NLR's  Devons Road shed from where they also worked the docks.  Their use at Birkenhead ended in 1952 and at Devons Road in April 1958.
7256 was sold to Grimethorpe Colliery and worked there from 1935 to 1940.  One engine was loaned to Wolverton Carriage Works in 1956.
30 engines entered LMS ownership, with 15 eventually passing to BR, one of which was withdrawn immediately.
58850 is the only example in preservation.

The kit models the locomotives as they were after 1889, although various fittings including chimneys, safety valves, handwheels, brakes etc. were changed from time to time..
Dated photographs are the best  way of obtaining accurate information on the fittings used on
individual locos at any given time..

handrail knobs, wire and piping are included in the body kit, which has full instructions together with prototype and livery information.

Designed by webb these engines were introduced in 1898.  although called watford tanks they saw service all over the lnwr system.
77 engines were taken into lms stock although 12 of these never carried their lms numbers.  only 2 survived into br ownership - 46900 and 46012.  the last was withdrawn in 1953.
when introduced they were not fitted with coal rails.  these were added from about 1910.

none have been preserved.

the kit does not include handrail knobs, wire. or transfers.  lms and lnwr fittings are included, together with instructions containing prototype and livery information.

49 passed to the lms and were renumbered.  none passed into br ownership, the last 2 having been withdrawn in 1940.
the first 30 engines were fitted with larger bogie wheels which they retained throughout their life..  the lms fitted ross pop safety valves and tapered buffers to some of them in place of the lnwr fittings.
none have been preserved.

The kit comes with assembly instructions which contain prototype and livery information.
handrail knobs, wire and transfers are not included.

Suitable chassis components for this kit can be suplied by Mainly Trains and Alan Gibson.

3 of these engines were built sharp, stewart & co. for the cambrian railways.  They were delivered in 1866.  the cambrian railway rebuilt them in 1894 and the gwr rebuilt them again in 1922.
it is this GWR version that is modelled by the kit.
all three worked on the tanet valley line from 1904.  with the exception of some time spent on the hemyock branch the rest of their lives were spent on the tanet valley.
